Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy · Missouri
You Were ToldThis Is Just Partof Getting Older
You have heard some version of it. Your labs came back normal, so nothing is wrong, so this is simply what your forties or your sixties feel like.
I have spent the past seven years working almost entirely on hormones, and a number sitting inside a reference range is not the same thing as feeling well. Ranges are drawn from whole populations. You are not a population.
Dr. Shannon Sitzmann, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Board-certified Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner. Over 13 years caring for patients, and the past seven focused on hormone therapy.

The Reasons People Come In
These are what patients arrive describing. Naming them is where a first visit starts, and none of them is on its own a diagnosis.
- Exhaustion that sleep does not fix
- Weight that will not shift
- Broken sleep
- Low libido
- Brain fog
- Anxiety and low mood
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Low testosterone
- Perimenopause and menopause
- Not feeling like yourself
Why I Started Doing This
Hi, I am Shannon. Most people who reach a page like this one have already been somewhere else. They went in tired, or heavier than they used to be, or not quite themselves, and they came out holding a printout that said everything was within range.
That was the part I could not leave alone. Two patients can have identical numbers and completely different lives, so the first appointment here is a conversation rather than a form-filling exercise. I want to know what changed, roughly when it changed and what you want back. We look at the labs that matter for what you are describing, and then we decide together what to do about them.
I am licensed in Missouri, which means I can see you from anywhere in the state. Your first appointment can be a video visit, so you do not have to drive somewhere to find out whether this is worth doing at all, and it can be here in the office instead if you would rather sit down with me.
Carpe diem.
– Dr. Shannon Sitzmann, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

How the First Visit Works
Three steps, and the first one takes about a minute.
- 01
Send Your Details
Tell me what is going on, in as much or as little detail as you like. We read every one of these ourselves, and we reply by text or email to arrange a time.
- 02
Meet by Video or in the Office
Your first appointment can be a video visit from wherever you are in Missouri, or in person at the office if you would rather be seen face to face. We go through your history, what changed and what you want to feel like again.
- 03
Decide Together
Labs where they are needed, read alongside what you have described rather than instead of it. Then a plan you have agreed to rather than been handed.
Your First Appointment Does Not Need a Drive
Dr. Sitzmann, DNP, is licensed in Missouri and sees patients by video anywhere in the state, from Kansas City to the Bootheel. If you would rather be seen face to face, in-person appointments are available in the St. Charles County area, and that includes your first one.
The clinic is new, which is worth saying plainly: appointments are easier to get right now than they are going to be later.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ones people ask on the phone before they book. If yours is not here, call and ask it.
Call (636) 323-3856What is bio-identical hormone therapy?
It is hormone replacement using hormones that are structurally identical to the ones your own body makes. It is prescribed after a consultation and lab work, and the form it takes depends on what you and your provider decide together. Pellet therapy is one of the options available here.
Do I need to live near the clinic?
No. Dr. Sitzmann, DNP, is licensed in Missouri and sees patients by video anywhere in the state, so a first appointment does not need a drive. If you would rather be seen face to face, in-person appointments are available in the St. Charles County area, and that includes your first one.
I have been told my labs are normal. Is there any point?
It is worth a conversation. A reference range is drawn from a whole population and it is wide, so two people with the same number can be living very differently. The first visit is where what you are describing gets read alongside what your labs say, rather than one instead of the other.
What happens at the first appointment?
It is a conversation rather than a form-filling exercise. Expect questions about your history, your symptoms, your sleep, your energy and what you are hoping to get back. Nothing is prescribed before that conversation has happened.
Do you treat men as well as women?
Yes. Dr. Sitzmann, DNP, works with men and women, and has spent the past seven years focused on hormone therapy for both.
How soon can I be seen?
Send the form and we will come back to you with the earliest times available, or call if you would rather. The clinic is new, which means appointments are easier to get now than they will be later.
How will you contact me to book?
By text or email, using the details you send with the form. Booking that way takes a minute or two rather than a phone call. Questions about your own symptoms and history are worth more time than a scheduling message allows, and that is what the first appointment is for. If you would rather speak to somebody first, the number on this page is answered.
